We would like to explain below when and which data are collected, stored and used in the course of visits to our Internet pages and the take-up of our online offers. Personal data, as stipulated by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), comprise particulars concerning the personal and material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. In the course of a visit to the website www.heinemann.com.sg personal data will only be collected if you actively and voluntarily establish contact with HEINEMANN. However, visiting a web page will still generate data that are saved in a log file on a server and are evaluated anonymously for statistical purposes only.

HEINEMANN will store this personal data in order to provide the online services offered.
These data will be protected by HEINEMANN and other service-providers carefully selected by Heinemann, pursuant to the PDPA, using technical and organizational measures in accordance with the provisions in the PDPA.
Where applicable, separate conditions of participation (GTCs) may accompany online offers, which will provide information about the intended use of personal data.
HEINEMANN will only use personal data for its own marketing purposes if the affected person has been informed in detail of its intended use and has expressly consented to it.
Persons under 18 years of age should not take up the online offers, and therefore should not send us any personal data, without the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
Pursuant to section 21 of the PDPA, each affected person is entitled to receive free information concerning his/her data that have been stored by HEINEMANN and also has the right to have the personal data corrected, deleted or blocked at any time, pursuant to section 22 of the PDPA.
If you take up our online offers, your personal data will only be used by HEINEMANN and our associated undertakings. We shall not transmit them to third parties without your express consent. However, if we are bound by law or a court decision, we shall send your data to bodies entitled to receive such information. If, in the course of your order being processed, data are transmitted to service providers or partner companies on an exceptional basis, the latter shall be bound by the PDPA, other legal provisions and contractually by HEINEMANN’s data protection statement.
There are a variety of legislated storage time limits and duties. Following the expiration of these time limits, the relevant data will be routinely deleted. Data that are not subject to any storage time limits and deadlines will be deleted if their storage is no longer required to maintain the agreed business relationship.
During the submission of pre-orders and application data HEINEMANN will protect personal information with the utmost care, using state-of-the-art technology pursuant to section 24 of the PDPA. You may rest assured that any personal data entrusted to us will be protected using SSL. SSL stands for "Secure Socket Layer" and is an encryption process which is successfully used throughout the World Wide Web. All personal data are encrypted and can therefore be transmitted securely via the Internet. An icon (a closed padlock) at the bottom of your browser window will indicate that you are on a secure web page. Alternatively you can also select unencrypted transmission, e.g. when encryption is not possible for technical reasons.
HEINEMANN’s online offers can also be taken up without cookies. Most browsers are initially set up to automatically accept cookies. The storage of cookies can be deactivated or the browser can be set up to alert the user as soon as cookies are sent.
Regardless of whether you actively take up an online offer or not, certain data will be routinely stored on our servers in the course of a hit on our web pages with which you may be identified (use and traffic data). These data are used in order to facilitate the use of our web pages and to ensure our system’s stability and reliability.
These data will not be used to identify any user personally (i.e. not preserving anonymity).

Using these data, usage profiles may be produced under a pseudonym. Cookies can be used for this. Cookies are small text files that are stored locally in the cache of the visitor’s Internet browser and allow the Internet browser to be recognized by a website. Without consent provided separately, data collected using etracker technologies will not be used to identify the website visitor personally and will not be collated with personal data about the individual to whom the pseudonym refers.
