Heinemann Asia Pacific opens first shop in Macau, first downtown shop in Asia

MACAU, 25 October 2021 – Heinemann Asia Pacific has opened the doors of its first retail outlet in Macau, which is also its first ever downtown shop in the region, on the 23rd of October. The new 780 sqm shop, located in the H853 shopping mall of Lisboeta Macau, one of Macau’s newest travel destinations, boasts a wide assortment of Perfumes & Cosmetics and Confectionery products across over 40 premium and luxury brands curated to appeal to family travelers. These include professional Swiss beauty technology brand, FAQ™️, sister brand of FOREO Group, which is making its Macau downtown debut with Heinemann.

“We are delighted to open our first ever downtown shop in Asia Pacific in Macau, a top tourist destination in the region and one of the first to benefit from the gradual reopening of Mainland China’s borders,” said Johannes Sammann, Chief Operating Officer of Heinemann Asia Pacific. “We are excited about our partnership with Lisboeta Macau and look forward to growing our business together with them.”

Heinemann Asia Pacific was awarded the six-year concession by Macau Theme Park and Resort, Lisboeta Macau’s developer, in February 2020 after a competitive tender process.

The new shop represents Heinemann Asia Pacific’s strategic focus on diversifying its retail sales channels and further expanding its footprint in Greater China. Heinemann has operated the confectionery concession at Hong Kong International Airport under the brand name Sweet Dreams by Heinemann since 2018, and manages its distribution partnerships out of Shanghai.

While this is Heinemann’s first directly operated retail shop in Macau, the global retailer has had a longstanding distribution partnership with Chinese luxury fashion group Canudilo which operates Esscents Duty Free.

“We are thrilled to introduce Heinemann to our newly opened H853 Shopping Mall. With the unique and youthful concept brought by this brand we offer our guests more diverse retail options. Our team is committed to bring in a new mix of products, including first-time attractions in Macau. The debut of Heinemann at Lisboeta Macau offers a variety of international cosmetics & perfumes, accessories and confectionery, appealing to all age groups,” said Christine Hong Barbosa, Vice President of Retail Business Development at Lisboeta Macau. She continued, “We would like to take this opportunity to thank Heinemann for believing in us--we are honoured to partner with one of the world’s foremost travel retail industry leaders, and together we are excited to contribute to a brand new chapter in Macau’s vibrant retail offering.”

To welcome shoppers to its doors, Heinemann will be showcasing key brand partners such as French luxury skincare group Clarins, who will feature their brand new Double Serum Eye. Rituals, one of Europe’s fastest growing home and body brands, will also present a stunning pop-up focused on Private Collection, its exclusive, luxury home collection.
