Kaunas, 13 July 2017. Yesterday, Gebr. Heinemann and Travel Retail Vilnius opened two brand new Heinemann Duty Free and Travel Value shops in the Schengen terminal at Kaunas Airport. A third shop in the Non-Schengen terminal will be opened in August, completing a total retail space of 370 square metres. Bruno Kaspar, Director Kaunas Airport, Claus Heinemann, Co-Owner Gebr. Heinemann, Peter Irion, Executive Director Distribution Gebr. Heinemann, and Bernard Schlafstein, Area Sales Director Russia/CIS Gebr. Heinemann, proudly celebrated the opening together. Kaunas is the second largest city in Lithuania. The airport is an important hub for Ryanair and Wizzair and a starting point for business travellers, tourists and expats.

The three Heinemann Duty Free and Travel Value shops are designed and built as a walk-through concept, following highest quality standards. For all construction works Heinemann appointed local Lithuanian companies in order to show the high commitment in the region. 17 employees were hired for the shop operations at Kaunas Airport. They work in close cooperation with the team of 68people at Vilnius Airport, where Travel Retail Vilnius, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Gebr. Heinemann, also operates nine Heinemann Duty Free and Travel Value shops.Passengers at Kaunas Airport may choose from an excellent assortment which covers international bestsellers from all categories including accessories. Additionally, there is an attractive selection of local highlights from the spirits, sweets and fine food categories. Even before getting to the destination of their dreams or the next business meeting, customers can discover the “crazy lazy summer feeling” thanks to the special summer offers, which are available until the end of August.
