Gebr. Heinemann and local partner Greenway become exclusive Duty Free operator at Domodedovo Airport

Hamburg, January 22 2018. A successful start to the year for Travel Retail Domodedovo (TRD): the Russian company won the tender to become the exclusive Duty Free operator in the new International Terminal at Moscow's second largest airport, Domodedovo. Opening of the approx. 7,000 square metre area is scheduled for June 2018. The contract period is seven years.

"Over the years, TRD has established itself as a reliable and competent Duty Free operator. We will continue to expand this competence in the coming years and present a comprehensive and varied range of Duty Free products to passengers at Domodedovo Airport," explains Oleg Zhytomyrsky, Director Sales Russia/CIS at Gebr. Heinemann. "We are delighted at winning this tender, which is a great confirmation of our entrepreneurial commitment in Russia."

Travel Retail Domodedovo, founded in 2007, is a joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and its local partner Greenway. With two Duty Free shops and three Duty Paid shops, TRD is already active as a Duty Free operator at Domodedovo Airport. When the new terminal opens, all international flights will operate from this, while national flights will be concentrated in the existing terminal. Thus, TRD will in future be responsible for all Duty Free trading at Domodedovo Airport. The number of local employees will be gradually and significantly increased.

The future Duty Free area will comprise a large main area of approximately 4,000 square meters in the form of a walk-through shop directly behind the security checkpoint and two large areas for various fashion and accessories boutiques.
